You are not tied to an outlet, there is no cord running across the floor for someone to trip on, and you can hang them anywhere in the room. Buy a couple of extra packs of batteries so a dead strand at 8pm is a non-event.

Not every part of a setup deserves the same budget. Put your money where it shows up in photos and where the girls actually spend their time. Everywhere else, keep it simple and let the room breathe.
